Inbox for Gmail coming to Google Apps users “imminently”

Back in October Google first introduced the world to Inbox, the company’s attempt to create a smarter and more productive email experience. Of course the launch of the new app and service wasn’t without a few limitations. Firstly, you needed an email invite in order to join the service. Secondly, the service would only work with personal Gmail accounts, leaving out business and education users with the “Google Apps” service.

Four months later, Google has given Gmail users plenty of chances to grab an invite to Inbox. But what about Google Apps for Business and Education users? They’ve been left in the dark all this time, but no longer. Taking to Twitter, Sundar Pichai has announced that Inbox support is rolling out to Google Apps users “imminently”. While Pichai doesn’t specify, we assume the same invite system will remain in place for a while longer, though that’s really just speculation on our part.

As of the time of this writing, we can confirm Inbox still isn’t playing nicely with Google Apps, but at least we know it is coming soon. We’ll be sure to update you as soon as we learn more.
