ASUS ZenFone 2 To Launch 5.5″ FHD Display Variants In India

In India at a ZenFone 2 media preview, Asus has confirmed that it will be only launching the 5.5-inch sporting models of the smartphone line-up, which the launch scheduled for April 23. More details on Asus ZenFone 2 in India launch can be found after this break.

Three variants of the ZenFone 2 smartphones will be launched, the ZE551ML with 4GB of RAM, ZenFone 2 ZE551ML with 2GB of memory, and the ZenFone 2 ZE550ML with 5.5-inch HD dsipaly. Dropped one would be the Asus ZenSone 2 ZE500CL, which features a 5-inch HD display, and won’t launch in India according to the report.

The Taiwanese company was previously said to debut three of its ZenFone 2 variants in India, later revealed that all the three models will support Indian LTE bands, and added that more details will be announced at the launch event.

If you consider the pricing on the ZenFone 2 4GB RAM smartphone in Taiwan with 64GB ZE551ML is priced at TWD 9,990 (roughly Rs. 19,900), the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (4GB RAM, and 32GB storage) at TWD 8,990 (approximately Rs. 18,000); the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (2GB RAM) at TWD 6,990 (approximately Rs. 13,900); theAsus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML at TWD 5,990 (approximately Rs. 11,900) respectively.

On the software side, all the three variants will run the company’s new ZenUI based on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop. Under the hood, packs an Intel Atom chipset.

Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (4GB) features a 64-bit 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor, while the 2GB of RAM model features a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560, 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera with dual-tone flash.

The ZenFone 2 ZE550ML is also powered by the same Intel Atom Z3560 chipset. All the versions support expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB). It sport 13-megapixel rear PixelMaster camera while there is a 5-megapixel front camera on board as well.

While the Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML features a 5.5-inch full-HD display in both the 2GB and 4GB RAM variants, while the Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML features a 5.5-inch HD display. All three variants support dual-SIM (Micro-SIMs).

All the Asus ZenFone 2 variants (ZE551ML and ZE550ML) are backed by a 3000mAh battery package which is removable.
