Sony rolls out new LDAC codec with compatible MDR-1ABT Bluetooth headphones

The new Sony MDR-1ABT Bluetooth headphones will be compatible with Sony’s new LDAC audio codec, which is capable of transmitting three times the amount of data than SBC/A2DP codecs.
This high quality Bluetooth audio codec will carry on the movement to better audio on the go.
When wired the MDR-1ABT headphones support up to 100kHz an have a built-in touch panel to control volume and playback.
Sony devices that will team up with these new headphones include a host of Walkman models, including the NW-ZX2, and following an update in April NW-A16 and NW-A17.
The headphones weigh 300g, come in black and silver, support Bluetooth 3.0 playback, and will be released in Japan for 40,000 yen (US $335).
